Takeuchi Excavator Pioneered The Compact Model

When it comes to companies who helped pave the way modern construction gets done, Takeuchi is one of the industry leaders. The Takeuchi excavator is known as the first compact excavator to arrive on the U.S. market. The company delivered the product earlier to its home Japanese market.

Although some companies that originate products tend to get left in the dust by competition in later years, this isn't the case with Takeuchi. The company has been going strong since the 1960s.

Takeuchi equipment first came on the scene when the company was founded in 1963 in Nagano, Japan. It earned the right to claim the world's first compact excavator design in 1971. It later introduced the first compact rubber track loader to the American market, as well.

The company's American plant was initially founded in 1979. It has grown in leaps and bounds through the years as the demand for Takeuchi excavator products and other designs the company makes has increased. It currently operates a 250,000-square-foot facility outside of Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the Takeuchi excavator line, the company is also known for its track loaders and wheel loaders.

Takeuchi excavator designs tend to fall into two major categories - the regulator excavator and the zero swing. With a variety of models available, the Takeuchi excavator is found on jobsites all over the world. Its models range from very compact designs to rather large excavators designed for some major earth moving.

The regular Takeuchi excavator line includes more than five models. Each is backed by the Takeuchi name, which is the industry pioneer in this particular make.

The TB125 model has an operating weight of 6,165 pounds and a dig depth of more than 9 feet. Its bucket breakout force falls in at 6,350. The TB1140 is a major crawling powerhouse. This machine has an operating weight of 31,878 pounds and a dig depth of 18 feet. The bucket breakout force is an impressive 22,188. It also offers a 5.86 psi ground pressure rating.

The Takeuchi excavator company makes three models in the zero swing category. The TB138FR is the smallest in this line. It comes with an operating weight of 8,316 pounds and has a solid dig depth of more than 11 feet. It has a bucket breakout force of 8,995 and a ground pressure psi of 4.34.

The TB180FR weighs in at 18,370 pounds and has a dig depth of nearly 15 feet. Its bucket breakout force comes in at 16,335 with a ground pressure psi of 4.50.

When it comes to compact excavator models, this company is considered the originator. It is still a leader in the production of new makes and models. With a variety of machines to fit almost any kind of excavation need, Takeuchi is found in almost any situation where major moving needs to be done.
